Online Competitor Analysis Technology Sector in Ireland 2014

The software technology, engineering and life sciences sectors are the fastest growing sectors for exports by native Irish companies, growing at 15 to 20 per cent per annum. This growth provides an opportunity to expand the technology sectors role in building a robust, sustainable and high-value added driver for Ireland’s economy. A key aspect in this potential growth is how effective these industries represent themselves online.

In the following report we have analysed and reported on essential elements of the sectors’ online representation.

Key finding:

Almost 4 out of every 5 websites analysed were NOT OPTIMISED for non-desktop devices.

When coupled with other recent findings on the number of users accessing websites through mobile devices  standing at over 50%,  leaves the majority of these Irish sites lagging behind their international competition.
